    Today is AC Web's 10th birthday! It's amazing to see that the site is still going after all this time – I certainly did not imagine that this would be a 10 year project upon starting. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the site in any way, whether that be in the releasing of tutorials and repacks for other members of the community, or simply joining in with discussions about private servers and World of Warcraft. PrivateDonut also deserves a special mention, he has become an invaluable member of the team through his moderation efforts.

    To celebrate, we will have a cake bake competition. Members must bake a cake to celebrate AC Web's 10th birthday and post a picture of it in the submissions thread. The best cake will then be voted for by the community. The cake can be decorated in any way you like, but must include the text AC Web, and include an indication of our 10th birthday, whether that be 10 candles, the number 10 in icing, or candles in the shape of the number 10.     Award System

    I'm happy to announce that we have officially reintroduced the award system to AC Web. We know this has been long overdue!


    What are AC Web Awards?


    Awards are tokens of achievement. You can gain them for accomplishing various tasks, such as being a helpful member, gaining X amount of posts, or making useful contributions to the graphics section. When you have achieved an award, it is displayed on your profile and posts for the public to see.

    Awards can only be issued by AC Web staff. This means that the system will be less affected by the drawbacks of the reputation system, such as rep farming. Below is a list of awards that can be obtained currently, along with the requirements for each. More awards may be added in time.

    If you think you are eligible for one of the awards, make a post here.

    What awards can be obtained?

    - Member Of The Month - You must be voted member of the month.
    - Music Lover - Be active within the Music Chat section.
    - Valued Member - A friendly and helpful member on ac-web.
    - Defender - Report threads/posts that breaks the rules
    - Gamer - You must be active within the gaming sub-sections / general.
    - Donator - Donate to ac-web
    - Money Bags - Donate $30 or more.
    - Pot Of Gold - Donate $50 or more.
    - Rockstar - You are a well known user within the community.
    - Shit Poster - Someone who isn't useful, and only posts pure rubbish.
    - Graphics Wizard - Be active within the graphics section
    - Dog Lover - Post pictures of your dog
    - Cat Lover - Post pictures of your cat
    - Chatterbox - Post 500 posts or more
    - Big Mouth - Post 2500 posts or more
    - Wise Man - Post 5000 posts or more
    - Awesome Releases - This will be awarded to users that consistently release great content, such as repacks, scripts or websites.

    AC Web Update.

    Thank you for waiting patiently while we were down for maintenance. First and foremost, you’ll notice our software has been upgraded to the latest vBulletin 4.2. All essential features of the previous version are included, but you’ll now also get to make your very own blogs and customise your profile and posts through this redesigned, sleek UI. With a new skin, CMS and articles, we hope to enhance your social experience all while preserving the essence of our community.

    You will also notice an activity stream where you can keep tabs on what members are up to. Though blogs may be the most compelling feature to you, allowing you to write your own news or stories, and keep your friends posted. This may be a WoW server you just started, or an ongoing development you wish to address. Members will easily find your blog posts through your own defined categories for which you can set privacy options and tags.


    Aside from the fancy new theme and features, you may notice awards have yet to make an appearance. Please bear with us as we implement the awards with all of your stats soon. And if you’re refreshed to see more space in your PM box, Power Users can now store 300 messages, Super Power Users 500 and Legends 1000 messages.

    We will continue to serve you with more content updates in the near future. For now, enjoy the new look.

    Happy 5th Birthday, AC Web

    Today AC Web blows out its candles marking five years since its launch. What started as an ambitious little site held together by Jargs' once-amazing Ultimate Repack grew into one of the most recognised faces in WoW emulation communities, and most certainly the best. We've come a long way since then. Some of you are still true to the site since 2007, others who mull over the good ol' 2008 and '09 days, and plenty of those who just joined our ranks and soon becoming the site's new generation. As we steer into 2013 and beyond, in whichever direction we go, the core of AC Web's image won't change - to provide the most exceptional content and discussion platform out there, fuelled on free speech and human ingenuity, in whatever medium we trek - be it WoW or something altogether new.

    So to kick-start the 6th year, I encourage you to invite friends, strangers and just about anybody else who may have an ambition for emulation, graphics, or even random crap like me. From the 21st through to the 28th, just one week, let's push the population to its limits. And urge them to make some posts!
