Sure, because the most important thing is stable server.
If you are experienced programmer with tons of knowledge and crashes are easy for you to fix, then go for Legion. Simple.

I won't say I'm 'experienced', but I know a lot of programming indeed.
I should 'test the waters' maybe.

But... is 3.3.5a? (economy terms...) or is it best aim for legion?

Are you aiming to get experience on emulation?

Also are you planning to get the server public if so, take a look at where's your potential playerbase going to be.
Does legion have a decent population on fun servers?

Is your server concept going to convince a possible player to join from previous expansion to a new one or a player that hasn't even tried fun servers yet to join.

It's not about in what platform and how stable is it going to be since we all know that none of those are stable enough without some sort of modification to the source.

I want to make my server public to get some money from it.
Plus, of course, I want to play my own server (as a player)

I thought legion, because you got more stuff (models, maps, blablabl you get it)
I've already modified a lot into my 3.3.5 tho

Not sure if aiming for an income is the best mindset to start a server.

Although I would suggest 3.3.5 over legion anytime, even the trinity core is pretty solid and stable, not sure about legion, I am sure it needs a lot of work tho.
