Normally this is what the Correct query would look like on trinitycore

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
.npc add item (ITEM ID) (EXTENDED COST ID) (Number of Items)(0 for infinite)

    e.g

.npc add item 1 18 0 (remember to target the vendor)
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a Post with the Extended ID's for you to use:

You should make the item unique if its only purchasable once per person, doing the first will make it so that only one person can purchase it till it re-charges itself in the vendor.

This added my custom item but didn't add my custom currency. You are able to buy it at no cost though. Custom currency was created in item_template and added to ItemExtendedCost.dbc and this is what I typed in game. .npc add item 54863 0 0 2998 (54863=custom item id, 2998=custom currency)

    Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

I think it's easier to work on your DB, npc_vendor.

I wanted to try a few different ways of doing this to see what works better for me. I added a couple of items this way too. It seams easy enough.

Yes. Once I corrected the patch name as discussed in the thread about "display_id" it came up but now that the custom coin is showing with icon it only says the cost is 0. I'm trying to find the problem now. Let me know if you know exactly what it is.

    Update:
I noticed that in the item_template the BuyPrice and SellPrice where 0 so I added a price of 300 and it still showed as 0.

I checked that the npc_vender ExtendedCost was set to 2998 (custom coin) and that the item was correct with the entry (vender).

BuyPrice nad SellPrice is only for copper cost
    https://wowdev.wiki/DB/ItemExtendedCost
    Column 4-8 = itemid
    Column 9-13 = amount
    example:
    column 4 = 25 (worn shortsword)
    column 9 = 4
Requires 4 worn shortsword to buy

Doh! I got it after all that and it was very simple. in the file itemExtendedCost.dbc in colum 5, I did not put the cost of the item. Now it is all working. Thanks for all your help.
