    I'm working on a version that disables flying in BG's and cities where terrain tearing is bad in 3.3.5A e.g. Stormwind, Orgrimmar.

    Anyone interested?

    just an observation, riding a flying mount in blood elf area displays the rider and mount angled up in flying position.. not sure why... but other than that great addition to my server thank you muchos

    Yeah there are some glitches for sure but the old areas were not meant for flying until the Cataclysm expansion when blizzard fixed all the old areas.

    I'm already using treetree's repack, botwars v4, that has this applied to it. Is it possible to edit the mount ids to change which ones the spell chooses to display? I looked at the sql file itself and see the ids, but since it's already applied to the repack I'm using I wanted to know if it's possible to edit that. I've been looking through the world db section of the repack and haven't seen the flying addon even though I know it's applied. Or do I need to edit the sql and recompile the server from scratch? (something I don't know how to do but I've been reading about it to learn how to compile on my own).

    No it's very easy to use an editor like HeidiSQL to change the model id's.

    Open up your editor and under world.creature_template table find creature id 32568 (Flying Black Qiraji Battle Tank)
    there you will find 4 model id columns modelid1, modelid2, modelid3 and modelid4.
    Change those id's to the model id's of the flying mounts you want to use.

    REMEMBER MODEL ID is the appearance of the mount not the actual mount id.

    google is your friend as well.

    If you are not familiar with using a sql editor be careful as you could mess up your Database

    here is the sql update you need just change the id numbers. Hint f you only want one mount then change 3 of the model id's to 0.

    UPDATE `creature_template` set `modelid1` = 31803 where `entry` = 32568;
    UPDATE `creature_template` set `modelid2` = 17722 where `entry` = 32568;
    UPDATE `creature_template` set `modelid3` = 31958 where `entry` = 32568;
    UPDATE `creature_template` set `modelid4` = 28040 where `entry` = 32568;
