It seems as though with every passing day this simple motion becomes more and more of a rejected act, Whether it be acceptance of beliefs, personality, differences, etc.

I am a Christian, however that doesn't mean I walk up to "sinners" and pull out a crucifix while shouting "By the power of God I release you." Yet it seems like that's how people view me once I tell them I'm a Christian.

Guess this falls under the universal question of why, but I just want to see what you guys think of it.

It seems like every time I tell someone I'm atheist, they attempt to disprove me instantly. Just today someone did that, and it ended with them basically telling me to stop (because their argument had no scientific evidence, and I kept going on). I don't go up to people and tell them their religion is wrong, so I don't expect them to do it to me. I've been proved wrong, however.

I bitch slapped him and walked away.

They think I worship the devil because I'm atheist.

If I don't believe in god, why in the hell would I believe in the devil?
