It's so sad what happened! And then there's that one commercial for dish soap or whatever and it shows the poor little baby otter all covered in oil, omg it makes me so sad. I hear that the oil spill could have been prevented if BP had used this one piece of equipment that they decided to not buy.

More oil leaks from oil tankers every year than the amount of oil in that open well. And there has been an oil leak of the coast of Africa since 1960. Discuss.

Oil leaks should really be watched more carefully. I don't see why oil companies, which are already rolling in money, can't spend the extra dough on more people to watch the oil so it doesn't leak and on technology and machinery to keep the oil from leaking. If oil companies weren't so cheap, many oil leaks and spills wouldn't happen.

If oil companies didn't spend money on better and safer technology that is enforced by regulations, oil spills would be much more common. If oil companies were cheap, your oil would still be crude in a barrel and you would have to refine it yourself.
The blame goes to oil companies' contractors for cutting corners and the government for not doing their damn job the make adequate regulations and enforce them.

To be honest, I live in Indiana, I kind of don't care about the oil spill until the effects reach me. I don't like fish food of any sort so I don't think I will be affected. So there for I do not care.

grr i hate BP i wish that they could just take all of BP's money and try and get this stuff all clean. BP doesnt deserve money :mad:
They need to stop the oil from leaking into the Gulf before they can even begin the massive undertaking of cleaning that mess up, I don't think a roll of Bounty paper towels will handle this one.

If BP had stopped this problem how long ago now? then it all would have been sorted but They haven't bothered and this is just costing the US More and more money every day. Around 125 MILLION dollars has been spent on this spill. We pay enough for petrol as it is! So they are minted and could have had it sorted by now and be rolling in money again!
They need to stop the oil from leaking into the Gulf before they can even begin the massive undertaking of cleaning that mess up, I don't think a roll of Bounty paper towels will handle this one.
