This topic will cause much less arguing and less headaches than the other topics hopefully :P

Before I thought Acne only came from what you eat, but my friend would always claim Acne is caused by stress. Now I believe that its caused by both diet (especially sugars and processed foods) and stress.

Apparently acne is caused only by the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, but what causes this bacteria to grow? Diet, Stress/Chemicals in hormones etc.?

I looked on Wikipedia for answers but it seems as if one half of scientists are trying to say it is caused by stress and the other half say it is only caused from diet (or even just specific foods like Chocolate [which I don't believe makes since because I have acne and I rarely eat chocolate] )

What do you guys think causes it?

i think its because of the food you eat and stress also causes it. Sweat or dirty things could also cause acne because during football season i was always all sweaty and started breaking out . when it was over it slowly went away.

Maybe instead of sitting in front of a computer all day, you should work out, get a gf, etc.
Also you might want to talk to a dermatologists instead of posting a topic on ac-web about your health problems.

Acne is caused by clogged pores, which is caused by overly oily skin.
Those bacteria get stuck in the clogged pores and cause inflammation (as your system is fighting them).

If you take care of your face hygienically, live a healthy and balanced life (work out, relieve stress, get laid regularly) it will go away.
In more severe cases it's caused by some disease and it requires medical attention. So as I said earlier talk to a dermatologist, as you should have done so long ago, instead of announcing on ac-web that you are fugly.

I already have seen a doctor/dermatologist, and I do have some acne but not as much, in the winter I seem to have less acne because I have gym class/weightlifting etc. and in the summer I seem to have more when I become lazier.

Here's me in the winter (maybe some acne yes, but not nearly as much as in the summer):

Call me names, fugly, w/e you want, people just saying words rarely bothers me; I posted this topic out of boredom wondering what other people do so maybe I can have even less acne, and again I was just bored, I wasn't trying to piss people off.

Happy 4th of July btw everyone!

I don't see any acne on you TheMagic O.o But dfighter was right when he said acne was caused by clogged pours. I've heard that scrubbing your face helps some, my cousin used to take sugar and mix it with water and scrub his whole face until it was like red and his acne has cleared up so much since he started doing that. Then again, he also grew up so it might be the fact that his body has matured out of puberty.

Do you have Accutane? I'm on Doryx right now, I'm not so sure about how effective it actually is though =S I'd much rather prefer Accutane, that stuff will get rid of anything, but I know I couldn't get a prescription unless it's severe.

I could buy it illegally though O.o
