How to let others access your DB

I'm sure I'm reposting but I'm posting this for the guys who asked about it in General.

1. Open navicat
2. Go to manage users
3. Click Add User
4. Give them a username and password.
5. Put % or your host name from https://www.dyndns.com/account/services/hosts/ OR your realmlist for their host, all three have worked for me.
6. Give them access to the appropriate sections.

Hope that helps. Sorry for the lack of detail, I read a tutorial some time back about doing it and I only remember the gist of it.

Where do people go to connect to that username and pass ?

i seem to be having a problem, so im on this server as admin, i asked my friend if he could let me acess DB, he created the account w/e it is and put the realmlist so i can connect, he has mysql open too, but when i try to conenct it don't let me, says it cant conenct to mysql. wats wrong?

you set the ip to his ip, port 3306, username is whatever he set, and pass is whatever he set.

well dat didnt work, my friend told me wat had to be done is that he had to unblock the 3306 port or somethin

where do you go to even connect to someone elses database? i can see the manage users part but do you just go to Open connection? or what

use your windows firewall..block all incoming connections exept that persons

Yea i tried this and it says it cant connect and my server is not using hamachi but my gm's could connect to the database while my server was on hamachi but now that it is off it will now work and yes we changed the ip on hedi sql. to my dyns or what ever. And i do now know what to do plz help me.

listen, i have 1 computer and 1 laptop
server is running on computer so computer is really slow,
laptop is better and i do all my works on laptop,
my laptop's ip same as my computer so if i put my IP or my realmlist, does it work for both?
