[TUT]If your Ip changes.. here is short and sweet TuT

[Remus]

IF YOUR IP CHANGES AND NO ONE CAN LOGIN-besides you-

this is waht u have to do

go to www.dyndns.com
login with your username and password

then go to My account if it is not already there,
click on My Hosts
then click on the dns you have for your server [ex: epicevilz.servegame.org]

then were it says IP ADDRESS: click the blue words under it,
then click save changes

COPY THE IP IN THE BOX FOR LATER USE

part 2


go to run (from start) and type

C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

open with notepad
and the bottom most one. in the parenthesis paste the ip u saved earlier.

then save the file, overwrite yes


Part 3

go to C:/AC Web Ultimate Repack/Ascent/Realms.conf

at the bottom where the realm is shown. under the name of the realm there is the old ip
replace the ip with the one used on the other places.

be sure to keep the :8129

save and exit.

restart your server if it is still up and enjoy :)

so if i followed your tut i would never ever have to change my ip in files ? Also what would i have to put in my realmlist.wtf ?
And what is parenthesis ?

this is for those people like me who dont have a static ip. and if the router gets reset the ip changes.. you should not need pictures for this. parenthesis is me typoing -- ( )

Thanks for this so does this class as a static ip so i dont have to buy one, my friends can conect aslong as i change my files external ip each time i turn my comp on :S

Ok I aint a noob anymore :P Each time if u have a wireless router your external ip changes your internal ip stays the same all the time, When you restart your computer or your internet disconnects your external ip changes so then for your server to stay public you must edit the files which were listed in the TuT, Otherwise people except you cannot connect. +Rep for the guide (Will do as soon as i can, need to spread more rep first :P )

well this doesnt work coz i have no router im connected directly to the broadband but now my isp crashed and everything not even i can connect -.- sooooo this sux... this tut doesnt work
