Well Ascent stable 2.8 has been released and has fixed alot of the problems you guys were having. Also there is a new repack (7.4) find it in the downloads section.

when i start the ascent.exe it says main database initialization failed. please help

my ascent.exe just crashes on me and gives me the "Server has crashed. Reason was: an Access Violation at 0x7C35528C" error message. Any idea what that may be?

So, what is this Ascent 2.8 stable and what is it good for? Where can I download it? I installed Repack 7.4, but after that all my old stuff was gone and all Characters were deleted... so I uninstalled the new repack and copied my old one back (Luckily I made a backup ^^)

Oh Yeah!!!! Im glad I stumbled upon your site Jargs. This is so sweet! I have a problem though, I down loaded your 7.3 repack it installed ok but when I started it up it said net framework error. I have Microsoft Net Framework 2.0 on windows xp pro sp2, And Im running wow patch 2.3.0. So im at a lost here. . .Any suggestions??

i followed instructions installed everything checked and rechecked everything updated everything and i cant get anyone else to connect to my server i can log into their accounts from my pc a few people cant connect to their accounts or get stuck at the loading screen anything i can do? besides start over

Nice Repack, has some big improvements

silver drops are very high in the ice world though, (dwarf and gnome starting point)

Ascent 2.8 is just an Update with fixes and new stuff, like a few new commands and it took some away. and it comes with the repack

editing the config files is unneeded you just gotta click launch server, change realmlist, and login

i have a problem, control panel diddnt work so i tryed to start it my self and the MySQL.bat and Apache.bat said it could not be started. Press any key to continue. in logonserver.exe and ascent.exe it said Main database initialiation failed. Exiting.
are the repacks not compatable for Windows Vista?

for ascent and logonserver you need mysql to work, apache is only needed for a website, get mysql to work then you can get ascent and logonserver to work

This is a great repack, but is anyone else have problems with the Boats? They dont dock right and if they do they dump you in the middle of the ocean. I even extracted maps again and downloaded other. I put up Portals at each dock to go to there proper area to get by. Is there a way to fix this or do i just leave the portals up. I found a great portal creation guide. hope this helps some one. Real easy to follow. I want to make sure they get the credit.
