[Need Help] Making Tournament PvP Server

I would like to see a Tournament-like server.
Something like the Blizzcon tournaments, where you got your char at Max LvL and full BG Gear.

What I have in mind:
-Auto creating accounts
(like L2J, if username/password does not exist server auto creates a new one)

-The character you create is at lvl70, with Max riding skill and he spawns at Ogrimar/Ironforge, with also all flight paths available

-The equipment of the character:
(in characters bank if possible)
*EpicMount(BG Raptor(horde) or BG Tiger(aliance))
*EpicFlyingMount(a drake would be cool)
*Full Gladiator Sets / Weapons for char class (eg paladins have 3 armor sets and rogues can wear dagger/swords/fists etc)
*Generals(horde) or Marshals(aliance) Belt/Boots/Wrists
*BG Pendants/Rings/Trinkets/Backs(capes)

-Character has 4/20slot bags on him and bank is all available with 20slot bags (perhaps with differrent items in each bag)

-Class quests should be marked as complete (dont wana make a 70druid that can't transform)

sounds really hard to do mate and alot of work, i wouldnt just go putting that much effort in for some random guy with one post on my forum

but you have to admit that its a cool idea
it will make antrix be even more interesting for many admins/developers

you could also make a line at antrix.conf like..
tournamentmode = 0


Perhaps I can make an sql patch file to convert the database to tournament database if you provide me info such as where/how are the new char worn items in the antrix mysql DB and if the initial char race spawn cords are somewhere in the DB.

but as far as collecting item IDs and and making a simple patch, nothing more/nothing less

what you could do is make the vendors with all the items you want in them and give your server something like 1000x XP so you get 70 levels with one kill. You would have to o alot of messing around in the DB but it do-able.But It will take you along time to do this you because its alot of work. I would be willing to help on the weekends when have some spare time, send me a message via PM.

PS auto aount creation is something you cant do, sorry :(

I totally agree with Katie,
Loads of work and i dont even know if thats all possible!

U could make vendors and trainers. The class quests will be a hard part. Got no idea to get that worked.

*Vendors are doable (I think vendors are easy to make)
probably a very good solution

*1000x exp is doable also from antrix.conf
change Rate.XP = 1 to Rate.XP = 1000
but from my experience from L2 servers changing exp to big amounts gets too meshy

*For the class quests we can try to make a vendor that sells the last quest items
In most cases even if the quest requires killing a mob you have to return an item from killing it (we can try this)

*Auto account creation at MuOnline servers is managable by making a script on MSSQL (don't know if it is doable with MySQL but I think that that was the way they did it)
A most radical solution whould be a change at the source code
in the login part that checks for your username/password add some lines that would create the account if not existing

*We could also add Portals right at the starting location places (Ogrimar for Horde and Ironforge for Aliance and put a line of Pasive mobs outside those cities that you would need to kill to reach 70

I made 3 different .XLS files containing the ID/Name of those items

we could use this to make a custom NPC with a quest that will give you the exp to reach lvl 70 :D

In the WTF folder, it created files for each character you create. Maybe you can create characters like MAGEtier6 huntertier6 warriortier6 etc... make a program to create those characters into each account that people make on your server. It's a long shot, but I think those character files hold all the info on what your toon is wearing ect... So when they get into the server, you automatically force rename on next log in, so they can change it.

Items still need honor to obtain
Can someone post how can I modify the original items so that they sell for Gold (or free) instead of Honor?
Plus, sometimes the client crashes

ok then i'm going to make an NPC with a quest that will give you like 10milion exp and 10kgold

i'll spawn this npc at the beggining locations and add teleports to the main cities

I made the Quest NPC to lvl up to 70
but the portal spawns disapear after I restart the server

nope just spawn the lvling NPC next to the normal spawns

If you can change them that would be great, we wouldn't mind for the Portal/restart server part

I am pretty sure to change the items from requiring arena points or honor points you must go into the item db and go through each item you want changed. Then under the flag column remove whatever is there and replace it with 0.

Example

Gladiator's Plate Gauntlets
flag is 32768 (along with every arena and bg item)

Replace it with 0 and set the value in the buyprice column to whatever you want or leave it 0.

Then in theory you should have free arena and bg items.

I have not tested it out yet, but I am going to fairly soon.

I had a couple of questions, about the project.
1. You want this a PvP server, where each person gets to lvl 70, does this mean you want each person who joins the pvp server to edit their own talent tree, with the 60 some odd points that they get?
2. Is it on the scale of something like AV, where the npc's are a big part of the PVP, including summoning of npc's for each team etc...?

just use arenas/bgs/world pvp
