How to depatch WoW

This is very simple.

Open up your WoW folder.

Go to the "Data" folder

Delete patch.mpq

Run repair.exe and your at 2.0.0

and make sure you dont use the wow launcher again unless you want to get the newest patch. just wow.exe only.

No what you would do is copy your WHOLE WoW folder. and then depatch one of the WoW's

for ppl to still connect to ur server could u not just set the build on the config to the 2.4 patch ??? would work but ppl would just not be able to get the new content (for teh time being would that not be better)??????

can't patch up 2.3.0 or 2.2.0 to get the version to 2.3.3 -.- someone please give me a 2.1.0 THAT WORKS! ON EU AND NOT HOSTED ON RAPIDSHARE!

please link a site with working patches for both EU and US before making a guide .... -.- good lord! i can't patch up since blizz made 2.4 download instead... :( nice and i can only find american versions :(

I don't think so Maggi, because you'd keep your patch data. Meaning it would only recover/repair the wow.exe file and not the patch data. So you'd still have 2.4.x or whatever you patched down from. Btw progame64, nice guide, + rep.

Tried it and it still doesn't work. I just used this guide to depatch. Now i'm in the process of repatching to 2.4.2 through "filefront!"

I noticed a few people continue to "accidentally" patch up to 2.4.3. An easy fix for that is if you go to your realmlist.wtf and change "set patchlist us.version.worldofwarcraft.com" to "set patchlist YourServerIPAddress" once you've hit your desired patch verison.

Yep, even using the Launcher requires Internet.
