WoW Population Hits 9.3 million

roflmao.jpgVivendi have announced their most recent set of financial results, covering Q3. Sales were up 19% to $315.2 million. Which is what happens when you own World of Warcraft. Speaking of WoW, they also announced that the game's subscriber base has just hit 9.3 million. To recap, that's 9.3 million subscribers. Which works out at a pinch over 3 million per year. Let's put that in perspective, shall we? Yes. Let's. For those big on demographics, 9.3 million makes Azeroth the 88th most populous nation on Earth. Which means more people have ground out levels and griefed total strangers dressed as Elves than draw breath in Sweden, Austria, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Ireland or...New Zealand.

Yeah thats about 9.3 mil people who waste real money on a video game they already bought. sorry I don't pay for nothing on the net, heck I don't even pay for my internet connection. ;) Lets not forget on how WoW made allot of emo's in this world too, you know the skinny lil runts sometimes fat and need a hair cut staying up like 48+ hrs @ a time to level their characters or missing school cause they had to do a guild raid @ 5am est. Sorry to say I'm a guild wars player and always will be. WoW is awsome on the game play and interaction however guild wars beats this game in graphics and pvp. Its a game about skill and not so much about your level. Using 8 skills in your skill bar to figure out how to kill a character is very challenging. why am I on this site, I came across a "make a free wow server" on youtube by mistake and ran with it. This ascent stuff is awsome and cheers to you people who are doing what u are doing to make this free server stuff happen. :)

Devin do the math. 9.3 million users, $15 a month is over 100 mill a month, if it was a dollar per account every month they would be bringing in 9.3 million a month, but its $15 a month which comes to 1,300,000,000 a year take taxes they get more then 600 mill a year, employee pay and such brings them down to maybe 450 mil a year income!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL they are making bank. at least this is my aproximate to how much blizzard is making. if you put it in perspective blizzard could finance a small country with its income. And this is not including game sales and server transfers.
