Are they all just the same?

Lately I have noticed on servers that well...there all alike.
Now I understand there are some GREAT custom servers out there, and I also realize that there is only so much you can do. But what really gets me is this: Why do people constantly take Repacks, and not do anything at all to it?
Take your average funserver: Instant 70, gear up, nothing. Anything after that is just a blank void of boredom. Along with the DONATE NOW TO GET 1 ITEM!!
When chances are that you buy the said weapon, use it and within a few weeks
the host starts having "oh wow, my database just failed, I took all your money, and now I have to shut down the server. My question is this: is there a secret behind this? or is it just a scam for people to take money?

Only thing I hate about private servers, are donations. Some people has no clue what it is about.

I agree with Golepa. I was on this server a few days ago. And they were speaking on IRC. That they will be shutting down the server for ever. AFTER someone donated like 30$ for a few weapons and armor. The person who donated never got the money back or the weapons and armor. So yeah. Never donate to another person's server.

anyone shouldint donate at all specialy to some shitty wow server where 99% of the people are little kids who cant reach over lvl 20 on retail and who wants epix then finds a repack with a 5 second readme instruction and yet have problems understanding it

wowscape dont even need the donate donating is ment to help them host the server and so on theyr just putting stupd prices as like 600$ dollars for a t6 set lol i realy feel sorry if anyone actualy donates on wowscape you could get a t5-6 retail account at that price easily
