Hi, I am trying to set up a server.

But, i dont know the minumum requirement for the emulator

thus I cant choose on which server to rent. ( im planning on getting a vps or dedi)

Also does Ascent work on VPS?
How much bandwidth are required assuming that there will be 100 members?
How much RAM is required?
Also, can anyone please recommend me under $60 windows vps or dedi that can run antrix?

thanks.

no it needs to be dedicated and the lowest plan dedicated should be enough; you can always upgrade in future. Also, you won't find a dedicated for $60 a month.

Jargs. thanks for the replay.

Could you recommend me a server hosting that's cheap + has enough spec to run ascent ?

Also, could you explain why it would have to be dedi, not vps :)?

I am new to all this :)

thanks

edit: is it illegal to run ascent server in the states?
would the hosters suspend my account if they find out?

Technically it is not illegal because the emu was written from top to bottom from scratch. But it is very very sketchy. Servers have been killed before by blizzard. I doubt you will have any problems at all though.

Can I try-out the Ascent on my PC? Like a LAN?

i ran a mangos server on a vps for while, and it worked really well. I did however probably only have a maximum of 30 users on it. This was also an english host (www.servelocity.net), it cost me £10 a month and it was running 2.2 pretty well--was stable with no lag etc.
dont know if this helps
