Ok everyone, I've released version 3.2 which includes a statistics page. I guess it's fairly obvious that I had the day off work :P I spent almost the whole day coding!

I won't be making any major updates for a while unless I get a good reason. So don't hesitate to email me with any suggestions and/or bugs!

Hey bogdan22, download the latest version (now 3.2.3) and tell me if that works or not. If it doesn't work could you give me a bit more info like which version of Windows you're using etc?

I tested v3.2.3 on a clean install of Vista 32-bit with no updates and nothing installed. Worked fine, so hopefully it should work for you too :)

i've tested v3.2.3 also today... and it's same thing... i still get the don't send window and i still can't see the aplication icon... just an normal executable icon...

This is odd! I got my sister to test it on her XP SP2 machine with the same result as yours. She also has .NET framework 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5! I'll have to look into this further, maybe I'll try compiling it on an XP machine?

Gah, nobody seems to have a solution to this! I will compile v3.2.3 on my fresh install of Vista 32-bit and upload it.

make it so that you can start the logon and world servers without having to run the sql or apache servers so that us that don't use repacks can use it aswell.

You should still have to run MySQL regardless of whether you use a repack or not. If your server files are in "C:\My WoW Server\ArcEmu\" and your MySQL is in "C:\xampp\mysql\" you just change that in the config and it should work fine. You don't even have to run MySQL from the control panel because the control panel can still detect whether MySQL is running or not.

If you can't get apache to run, try this:
Open your "Server/apache.bat" and find the line that has "apache.exe" in it. It should be something like "*****/bin/apache.exe".
Go into the control panel config page and change the apache folder to whatever ***** is.
Test it
If it still doesn't work, tell me exactly where your apache.exe is located and I will review my code to make it possible for you to run Apache from the control panel :)

Can you give me a few more details about the crash? I just released version 3.3.0 which is much more XP-friendly than the previous versions, so if you're running XP give it a go and see if it fixes your problem.

Sorry but this is not an open-source project (not yet at least) so there is no way you can see the source code.

works but this is no good for me because i dont use a repack and have mysql running dedicated so there is nothing for it to start. if you made it so i could run the world and logon without having to do the sql button it would be a good app

Hey Jakari thanks for the feedback again, I found out your problem because I actually decided to put myself in your situation rather than ASSUME what was happening. When MySQL starts automatically (as a service) it starts mysqld-nt.exe... The control panel looks for mysqld.exe ;)

I'll fix that very shortly.

Edit: Works for me now (v3.3.1), hopefully will be the same for you. Sorry for making you go to all this extra trouble just to get it working on your machine. If I were a good programmer I'd make sure it works on everything before I even released the damn thing! :P

Hi Straifel, the crash you are having may be the same as one of my test machines. v3.3.2 now has an option to disable the fade-out effect which fixed the crash on my machine.

Had some spare time before work today so decided to add an update function in version 3.3.7. Also made it so you can set the folder of your logon server in case it's different from your world server.

Thanks for the rep :) I've been working on multi-realm support but it's a lot harder than you'd think. If you want to help me speed things up, please email me (joewynn[at]clear[dot]net[dot]nz) and let me know exactly how your multi-realm server is set up. I only run a single realm myself so it's hard for me to add multi-realm support when I don't even know how it works :P I just need to know things like: do you run multiple world.exe files or multiple logonserver.exe files - stuff like that. Do they connect to different databases or just different tables in the same database, etc.

Also I found out today that disabling the fade-out effect doesn't fix the error you get when you exit the program on XP. Next week I'm setting up a virtual XP machine and will develop on that rather than Vista so hopefully it will be a lot more XP-friendly :)

3.3.10 is out. Fixed the crash-on-exit bug for XP users and FINALLY stopped the program from making those .bat files ;)

Hey I did get your email, thanks for explaining that to me. The more you explained multi-realm servers the less I believe it is possible to integrate into my application.

In order to monitor the modules, Control Panel looks for their process names. When you start multiple instances of arcemu-world.exe they are all still called "arcemu-world.exe" in task manager. So it would be impossible for Control Panel to differentiate between the processes :(

I'm sure there is a way to implement multi-realm support... It would involve a LOT of hard work. I'll definitely keep looking into it but I can't promise results :P

Just a minor surgestion, when clicking on the start buttons, if it fails to start, it gives an error and crashes the app, you might want to wrap it in a try event and catch the error the report it back to the user in a msgbox ?:)

Could you give me a few more details about the error e.g. which module does it happen to, does it happen with the "Start All" button as well etc? The "start module" procedures are already in a try..catch..finally loop so the crash you're having must be compatability-related. Also have you checked that your modules are defined properly in the [Settings] form?

Good idea with the text color, I'll add that in later today. I actually wrote some code a while back to change the properties of every button on the form so I'm sure I could adapt it to work for labels etc :)

Edit: here's that code if you need it. Basically it looks for every control with a name where the last 6 letters are "button". You should be able to easily adapt it to whatever you want :) Oh and of course you'll need to change "LaunchIt.MainForm" to "YourProjectName.FormName"

FINALLY the next release is here! v3.4.4 includes:
* "Control Panel was unable to find the [module] file. Do you want to find it now?" - if you click yes, the file browser now opens automatically.
* If you set a module to auto-restart but the file location is not set correctly, you no longer get an infinite loop of error messages, yay!
* Control Panel no longer creates the C:\Program Files\Control Panel directory (sorry about that!)
* Fixed the weird bug that made the buttons go "flat" when you first open Control Panel
* Control Panel remembers where you positioned it last, and all of the other windows now open relative to where the main window is.
* When you upgrade Control Panel you can import your old settings so that you don't lose them - woot
* You can also reset your settings to default if something terrible happens ;)
* Control Panel auto-restarts after most crashes

Yes,,this a very good idea and also brings to mind a good point also,
(I can learn to make a repack now) and that is exactly what I am
going to do.

I'm not going to be lazy and return the help from ac-web and compile
a repack and stop being so stubborn and ask for help.

the only thing I need help with,,when the compile is finished,, is
configuration.

Furthermore: I assure you it will be 200% stable and efficient for I an an expert in that.

v3.4.5 is out. Release notes:
* Control Panel detects if it is being run for the first time and asks you to set up your server modules or import previous settings.
* Fixed crash when trying to start a module if the file is set incorrectly.
* Revised the config editor. It is "smarter" now, but still depends on your World Server File being set correctly.
* Added a setting to change which table Control Panel looks for the "online" field in (for online players).
* Slightly changed the look of some parts of the Configuration page.
* Revised the import/reset settings code.
* Changed the look of the "Stopped" and "Running" labels.
* Cleaned up a lot of code to try and keep file size down.
* The function that checks whether modules are running is now much more efficient.

As I update this application fairly regularly, it's a hassle to upload each new version to a third-party hosting server. My server only has about 90% uptime so you probably caught it when it was down. Try again and I'm sure it will work :)

And as treetree said, I've been working on a multi-realm control panel but there haven't been any updates for it recently as I've been busy with University. 3.5.0 will be uploaded soon. 3.5.X marks the "Crash Log" milestone. Every time your server modules exit, it is logged to an XML file which can be viewed with Control Panel's "Crash Log Viewer". Crash logging is disabled by default, as it is probably only useful to people who are expecting 99% uptime and want to know how often their servers are crashing.

I'm also trying to add a feature that tells you WHY your modules closed, but so far all I can get is the exit code (an 8-bit numeric string) which means nothing to you or I.

You can also expect to see version 4 released in the near future. Version 4 will have multi-realm support integrated into it (rather than it being a separate application).

Version 3.5.1 is out! This version doesn't update the functionality of the Control Panel, but changes how the themes work. Instead of having built-in themes, you can create your own or download some that I've already made. By doing this I managed to cut the file size down by about 50KB!

I really need some help testing out the new themes system, so if you download Control Panel try and make a theme and let me know how it goes!

Tree you put me in a good mood so I was motivated to code more :) v3.5.2 is finished already!
* Fixed the bug where themes don't revert when you press Cancel.
* Changed the startup registry entry to "Control Panel by ProphetX" (may affect some people's "Run Control Panel when Windows starts" option).
* Fixed a bug that sometimes stopped themes from working.
* Control Panel automatically finds your servers config files. This only works if your World file is set correctly!
* Changed the "Running/Stopped" algorithm slightly, it now checks the server modules every 600ms rather than every 500ms. This should keep Control Panel as responsive as possible while slightly reducing CPU usage.

i tried out the control panel out and i get this error...

if your looking to add more features. a nice one would be if mangos is selected the logon database(under MySQL Connection) that would change from logon to realmd. i know it can easily be edited to realmd but since realmd is the default mangos logon most ppl using mangos will have a realmd database...just an idea
edit: nice, im playing with the custom theme now. maybe you could add the theme colour to the buttons...

edit 2: helping fine tune the bugs... if custom theme is saved and at launch custom theme is not found revert to default...i made a theme named rrtn.cpt saved the settings then renamed the theme and restarted the control panel and it errors (could not find file 'rrtn.cpt')
also in the cp if you goto -> 'reset settings' button. it will crash the program at reload sometimes(try hitting 'reset settings' button more than once in a row)

I thought I had broken 3.6.0 by moving it
around or taking away the themes folder
and then it was very unhappy after that
and just crashed all the time...

I only had 10 copies of it and was trying to

I am also having the same problem as Ujio, except i am using ArcEmu. I have rechecked the information several times and i still get the MySQL error.

This is my setup:

MySQL host: localhost
Logon Database: logon
Characters Table: character
Username: root
Password: ascent

What's strange about the repack i am using http://www.ac-web.org/forums/showthread.php?t=96323 there is no "online" table in any of the forms. I have checked them all. However under the logon form there is an "accounts" table, which i tried using but still got the MySQL error. Any help is appreciated.

The latest release was compiled and tested on a 64-bit Win7 machine, so it will work fine. It will work on any Windows machine so long as it has .NET 3+
