you dont need hamachi, you need to do it in this order.
Open
c:/program files/worldofwarcraft/realmlist.wtf
edit it with notepad and replace
set realmlist us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com
change it to
set realmlist wow.ac-web.org
then start the game and login with your account you made at http://wow.ac-web.org

How did you attempt to make it public without himanchi?
Can you connect to the server, using your EXTERNAL ip in the realmlist?
Ill PM u my messenger, but if everything has been set right then you might want to look at your Router and ensure the correct Port Forwarding setup is configured. Also, some ISP's have port blocking on there end which you may need to disable online or over the phone.
If you don't know your External IP go to http://whatsmyip.org/
I dont use himanchi my self, It makes things to complicated when getting less technical people connecting to your server.
Note: Port Forwarding can also be seen as firewall in some routers.
