that was the first thing i did after downloading and extracting the repack -.-
after it was done i cut & pasted the maps folder and the dbc folder to C:\Welshtotems WoTLK Repack [8905]\MaNGOS so that should be correct also :-/

I got it work now, when i use my account i cant create deathknights. its just grey, like how belfs were when u dont have tbc.
i changed the tbc column in my database to 8 so i have a tbc account.
then it gave me this when i logged in lol

mcilduff if you look into the other ones all they have is the compile for 8905, they have not database , no mysql in it etc so they really not a 100% repack

i opened heidisql -> realmd -> account -> data -> then changed the 1 under tbc to 2. its logical xD when u dont have any expansions enabled on ur account the number is 0, for tbc its 1 and for lich king its 2 ^^

when its loaded up type.

create [username] [password]
setgm [username] [gm rank]
setexpansion [Username] [number]

gm ranks that i know:
4 - Full Admin
3 - GM
2 - lower class gm
1 - just a few commands (not sure if gm or not)
0 - player

Expansion Codes
0 - Normal wow account
1 - TBC account
2 - WOTLK account

Example...
create Left Wowwiki
setgm Left 4
setexpansion Left 2


this would create an account:
Username: Left
Password: Wowwiki
GM Rank: 4 (full access)
Account Expansion: Wrath of the Lich King

You can also change the password by doing

setpass [Username] [Password] [New Password]

u must know the old password for this tho.

i think that connected problem is a core issue. just hit enter and keep trying to get in. usually works after a couple.

bobsell and ilikeeggs012 if get that error it means that when you imported database it may have skipped that part , if using nevicat import database again but on part were select the SQL it have tick box and some thing like would you like import to carry on even if errors show tick that and it will redo database and it will import missing tables etc and that should solve the problem

So my question is:
Everything works fine, acct creation, DK, Northrend (aside from its almost completely unspawned, and if anyone trys to connect with a newer version, hillarity ensues as displayid's have undoubtedly changed)
The only enormous pain in the ass with this repack:

It appears that buffs/debuffs don't work at all.

Anyone else have this issue?

hi just tryed the updated repack after having the old one working fine for a while but i get the error:
Loading Creature templates...
Error in creature_template table, probably sql file format was updated (there should be 65 fields in sql).

not sure what this means exactly i went into a Mysql editer(navicat) looked up this table in the DB and it is there not sure on where the problem is any help would be appiecated.

ilikeggs012 reinstall the database but there is a part if you have navicat that will carry on if the any errors [ its got box to tick ] if tick that it will install database and if any tables etc missing it will import them back in

korori that usely mans that install of database was skipped on little bits bit by bit, reinstall the database [ dont delete what in there already ] and tick the box for some thing that says like carry on if any errors and it should install missing tables etc that you done have

Welsh, I finally got it to work, took me a bit and a little finesse to get it running properly. I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Any chance that the core and DB will be updated soon, I can't get my DK out of Ebon hold. the mounts don't work.

I download the 8926 repack, I followed the readme, but when I try to connect I get an error

World Database: 127.0.0.1;3306;root;manos;mangos

Could not connect to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1 unkown database 'mangos'

Cannot connect to world database 127.0.0.1;3306;root;mangos;mangos


I can connect to using the SQLyog and I did the restore from dump on all 4 dbs using the files included. any help would be appreciated

Forget the above post, I was able to get past that problem, however I now get the following error


Some required *.dbc files <1 from 55> not found or not compatable ./dbc/item.dbc <exist, but have 4 fields instead of 8> wrong client version DBC file?

I have ver 8926, and I ran ad.exe. not sure where to go from here.

I couldnt go through life on the server without having GM Island spawned, so i proceeded through the tedious process of exporting them out of my 2.4.2 ascent server and then reformatted them to work on Mangos.
So here you all go, enjoy. -> 1015

p.s. to install this i just used Navicat's "Execut Batch File" function....

Here is the season 3 and season 4 vendors -> not spawned, but this will create the gm island vendors in the database and then add the appropriate items, all you have to do is manually spawn them.

in response to "obievil's" coment about the mangos fly command it is .gm fly on try that to get you out of the DK start point (if not interested in .tele ). the second version of the re pack has the working exit mounts. hope the fly command helped took me a while to find it online when i thought the same thing.

Unfortunately this is a problem on alot of these mangos servers, you have to completely delete the existing databases and create new ones and then import the data from the .sql database files, and replace the dbc and map files with new ones that you extract using the ad.exe tool. My server did the exact same thing until i did this.
