Hi,

There have been some changes made to AC-Web recently, the ranking system according to post count has been removed in order to prevent spam and also to prevent newer members feeling that they are not as good as anyone else.

If you see a useful tutorial, or if someone has helped you in the support forum, please make use of our reputation system. You can do this by pressing the reputation button on someone's post:

Woot, nice, Jargs now people can't spam or do anything to start drama, I find it cool because people can't say "Zomg you Newbie rank person you're not allowed to post here" Or anything like that. And i do agreed on the reputation thing it would help people if they would +rep people so they can continue to make more Tutorials or releases, for people to enjoy they're private server, Thanks, Jargs!

Nice system! but the sad thing about it is that there isnt much to make a tut about and not many are making a private server too.

Ac-web's method from what I'm thinking will be active alot more when wotlk comes out. :D

Ac-web could attempt to support an ascent version of beta till it comes out 2-3 months from now.

But its only a suggestion.

Oh well, I will still help people. We shouldn't work on an ARC version of the WotLK beta. I fully support the retail beta, and I don't believe it would be right to have working WotLK before Blizzard does.

You should make it so someone with a blue rep box still counts when they +rep us.

Most ppl i have made banners and avatars for have been newbie - veteran and they had blue boxes. so i get no rep basically :(

I've been reading and I overviewed on what I think of hows good this is or hows bad this is.

Good parts

Reduces spams and gives some members a chance to feel equal.

Bad parts

Possible Virus links or come and go (which means there wouldnt be anything interesting to talk about, only do your server and leave).

Just recognise the people who help alot and give them like a rank to let them feel special, nothing based on typing mutiple topics over and over.

Rank 2 - Assistance
Rank 3 - Helper
Rank 4 - Supporter

Basically if you would have this rank system only allow it to be done in the support forums then fresh players would get immediate attention!

I think that you should have both post and rep ranks:

Member=50 posts and 0 rep
Veteran= 125 posts and 20 rep
Senior=250 posts and 40 rep
Elite=500 posts and 60 rep
Legend=1000 posts and 80 rep
Poweruser=2000 posts and 100 rep

WHA! I love the power user part, at 1000. Cause 2000 takes ages to get doing only support work, it took me 4 months to get legend including the 200 posts in the falc asked for it thread. Over all its 6months to get 1000 if you take away those 200 from that thread

Rank based on Rep is Genius. People need to remeber to click that check box though.

What is to stop some from spamming rep though? One click per day from that IP?

This is only my third post on this forum as I have only been on here for 3 or 4 days. I do not deserve to have the same rank as " Member " like some of the leet posters ( like $hadow and all you other Uber cool posters ).

IMHO, I agree that rank "rewards" those uber posters and will keep them around.

I know I am a newbie. So if that is the rank I get; it fits. :D

Spamming rep is stopped by the fact you have to rep more then 4 other people before you can rep the same person again, and also that you can only give out like 8 rep things in 24 hours. Welcome to the forums

Ranks are just a way for people to feel higher over 1 another. Now without ranks everyone is equal until they have contributed enough to be a supreme benefactor to the Emulation forums.
