Hey,
I can connect locally on the server, but when I try to connect with another local machine (my laptop), I am stuck at Connecting. The reamlist file on my laptop is set correctly, and none of the other files have been touched. Couldn't find a soultion anywhere here :(

Thanks!

Have you tried adding another realm to the realms.conf for the other computer's ip?

ErectorInspector

# Logon Server Setup
#
# Logon servers are the old "realmlist" or "auth" servers.
# At the moment, you can only set up one. This will be changed in the
# future.
#
# LogonServerCount = Number of servers
# LogonServer[x].Address = The address (no port) of the server.
# LogonServer[x].Port = The port on which the logon server listens.
# LogonServer[x].Name = Not really relavant, but name the logon.
#

LogonServerCount = 1

LogonServer1.Address = "127.0.0.1"
LogonServer1.Port = 8093
LogonServer1.Name = "Default Logon"

# Realm Setup
#
# This is the realms that will be added to the list for this instance
# of the server. You can have multiple realms (e.g. one for LAN, WAN).
#
# RealmCount = The number of servers.
# Realm[x].Name = The name of the realm.
# Realm[x].Address = The address (and port) of that realm.
# Realm[x].Icon = The type of realm (PVP, Normal, RPPVP, RP)
# Realm[x].Colour = Realm colour in realm list display.
# Realm[x].TimeZone = Time zone the realm is in.
# Realm[x].Population = (0 = low, 1 = medium, 2 = high)

Okay. Here's what you do. Erase.
RealmCount = 1

Realm1.Name = "Auchindoun"
Realm1.Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
Realm1.Icon = "PVP"
Realm1.Colour = 1
Realm1.Population = 1.0
Realm1.TimeZone = 1 and add

RealmCount = 2

Realm1.Name = "Auchindoun"
Realm1.Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
Realm1.Icon = "PVP"
Realm1.Colour = 1
Realm1.Population = 1.0
Realm1.TimeZone = 1

Realm2.Name = "Auchindoun; Local 2 (Or whatever)"
Realm2.Address = "OTHER COMPUTERS IP:8129"
Realm2.Icon = "PVP"
Realm2.Colour = 1
Realm2.Population = 1.0
Realm2.TimeZone = 1

no thats not the problem i think its just that he is not connected to his laptop you will have to connect to it then type in the ip of it to do this go to start-run type in cmd then ipconfig and there should be your ip oh and why do you want it on your laptop?

Thorz

No.. He wants to be able to connect via his laptop. I haven't found a way yet to get people on the same network connected. I'm hoping he will continue to reply so we can get this worked out for future reference.

yea but for that doesnt he have to have the databse on his latop since he cant connect to the same network

Thorz

He shouldn't.. There's gotta be a way to get him connected, their on the same network, there's a way some how, I mean it's just stupid if people in your network can't connect. Don't you think?

Yeah it is :P, but anyways, so this is a known problem? Let's say I configure the server for public access, walk across the street to my neighbors, and try to login there, will it work? I was trying to see if I could even access it locally before trying that...

And the IP in the realmlist file is the IP of the server, not my laptop.

Okay. If you followed the tutorial w/o Hamachi and set up everything right, you would be able to go across the street and connect. As for another computer on your network, I have not been able to figure out a working solution as how to get them to connect.

Jacksparrow

well you could try to download hamachi make a server there and go on your other computer join it then put the hamachi ip of your other computer. Hope that will work.

Ya, I guess, I don't know.. This weekend, I'm going to sit down and work on a way to get local network computers connected to the server. There's a way, just not found yet.

ErectorInspector

Cool...also, I followed the instructions to make the server public and went across the street and it still did not work. Oh well :(

Ill help you with it tomorrow on MSN. It's harder to do on the forums.
