I may be oblivious, but here is my question:
Can anyone tell me why we have to use updates, and special means to create a better server?
What I mean is, the WoW program folder has all of the Files in it to make a server. It has all of the items, mobs, spells, maps, instances, and the mob's unique spells. Why can't we just pull those directly onto our own server from the files?

*I think I answered this question after I thought about it for a second. Does it have something to do with copyright, or something like that?"

No, the files, items, spells, and everything used to create a server is NOT in the WoW folder. (Trust me i would have done it by now) Everything like that is server-side except spells. (That is called a "Database")

Makes sense.

I always wondered why they had instances on servers seperate from the regular game servers.
When an entire server crashed, all the people who were not in an instance would get disconnected, those inside would be perfectly fine.

There has to be something in those files, because when I look on the server, it has the monster's in the instances spawned where they are supposed to be. You are telling me that you went through each and every instance database, and added the coords of each mob spawn?

How did you get everything like that into antrix. Is it just the DBC extractor?

I dunno everything about antrix or any of the similar WoW emulators but its general yes in that sense. Thats why they take so long to make and come with updates, and not everything works perfectly, but they do an amazing job.
