[Tutorial] Creating Custom Portals!

OK i have seen allot of people requesting this tutorial so i took the time to make it.

First off, go into WoW and go to the place you want your portal to take you to. In this case i will make it GM Island. Type .gps like so:

Now open up Navicat, and go into the teleport_coords table.

Edit one of the spells (make sure it's not one that will be used alot, i edited "Teleport: Goldshire"

in the map, x, y and z columns, put in the information you got from .gps, heres mine:

Now go in the the gameobject_names table, and create a new row. Put a high number for entry to make sure it's not taken. In the sound0 column, put the id of your spell in the teleport_coords table. Heres mine:

now restart your server, go into wow and type .gobject spawn "your game object id here" like this:

I've tried doing this in SQLYog, Navicat, and HeidiSQL. And none of them have 'spellfocus' in them in the gameobject_names. Whats going on? o_O

To make a new row in Nvaicat , find a + sign LOL

This is something that Jargs forgot or maybe didnt want to say.

when you do .gps

make sure you put the EXACT numbers that appear in the " teleport_coords " navicat , or sqlyon , or heidi will automatically configure it to the right location.

Putting the number higher or lower will sometimes get mess up for some users, so just put the exact numbers that appear in the .gps

you need to write a script for it.
search for "portals" and look for Jargs' post on "Creating custom portals the real way" That should solve your problems, and you'll be able to make working portals.

The 1 will let the server know that the portal is permanent ( works with every Go)

It Should Still Work, Just Need The Co-ords of where you want them ported. only getaround i see is a warlock summon xD

When you spawn ANY game object or portal, etc.; you MUST put a 1 at the end of the id...

ex; .go spawn 1001 1

I say do it the Lua way...

go to gameobject_spawns and search for the teleports you spawned.
Then in the table go to faction and change it.
Need to restart server.
i know 5 is horde.
and 115 is alliance.

Lol creating portal isn't the funniest thing to do but when it's done correctly it works fine, BTW this method works and is the easiest one. If you have trouble it's because you done something wrong.

ok what you do is type the game object you want, in this case the portal.... lets say my id for the portal was 88888 what you do is add a one to the end like this

.go spawn 88888 1

There it will stay forever untill you delete it. I hoped that helped

Yes, make a new row in Teleport_Coords and just put in the gps coords of the place you want the portal to port to and then match the entry ID of your new teleport_coord with the spellfocus of your portal in gameobject_names (you cannot create an entirely new kind of portal you must use a displayid of one already existing, 4972 is my favorite).

What if your making a Portal Like into an Instance it when you go to teleport it says that you cant enter unless your in a raid how would i fix that.
