As I"m new to the whole server thing.... Just wondering if somebody could give mew a really brief guild to installing this. As of right now, i'm using the ad.exe program in my wow directory. I copied my ascent folder to my ascent folder in my server folder. Now if I've done this all right (something tells me I didn') what do I do with the 2 folders "Database" and "SQL".

its simple:

you copy ad.exe to wow directory you create there a maps directory and launch ad.exe you wait it to finish

you move the folder maps into ascent directory

with navicat/heidisql or other sql program you create a mysql database and execute the batch file in it (don't forget to run mysql first using mysql or diskw or other mysql system u like)

you edit your conf files to match your settings and server is ready after that !

PS: if u are using a repack most of settings are already made so you have only to execute database and you are set, i hope u will succeed :)

I use heidisql. You said "don't forget to run mysql first using mysql or diskw or other mysql system u like". Do you mean from the server launch menu I launch all the programs (ex. "MySQL" "Logonserver" "Ascent" "Apache") then open Heidisql and connect to the server and create a new database? or am I out to lunch?

OK AScent Repack that works with patch 2.3.3 is installed and did work before i updated to patch 2.4, so i have all files and stuff. WHAT DO I DO TO UPDATE IT TO 2.4??? PLEASE HELP may be dumb question please explain for me

lol this is the biggest noob's compile IF burlex havent released 2.4.0 patch's core source then it is impossible to get stable server working with this,,,,,, it just bullshit i dont suggest to download this pack especially which is compiled by a total noob ...... Burlex havent made the source public it is only for private SVN ..... just wait when burlex will announce about the core changes... and 2.4 patch source includes tons of spell_trainers table structure changes ... so dont be so proud of your self(i mean that guy who made this shit)

I was wondering if I could get some help here... The exe. files keep coming up with an error every time I try to run them:

And this is from just trying to run it straight out of the .rar file, havent edited it, touch it or anything. It came to me fu**** up. What should I do?
