For all of you people saying my entry didn't have anything to do with Earth... Use your artistic imagination. =/

The background started as a forest, and I made the main colors to be browns and greens to match 'earth.' You can see bits of the guy being absorbed by the forest around him as a green ray of light powers by/through him, maybe even assimilating him into the 'elements' of the earth ("reverting back into the earth" if you will) as you notice you can't actually see any parts of his physical body in the sig. There's a theory that all people's energy force returns to the earth after they die, and then the earth uses that energy and a cycle is formed.

It could also be seen as the guy trying to escape nature or the 'earth' (as he's clearly not stationary) but he's being whisked away regardless of how hard he tries--- notice how he's sort of "trapped" in the box that is the sig, maybe that also represents how he cannot escape nature...

Anyway, any form of art can have a million different interpretations and none of technically incorrect, since that's what art is.

I'm a bit sad none of you think it fits the theme of 'earth' (which includes trees, grass, dirt, etc.). Whatever though, if that's your interpretation of the work, it's not wrong, it's just how you view it. I definitely had an "earth's assimilation powers" in mind when creating the sig though. Use your imagination...

I'll be sure my future entries are a bit more obvious I guess. =/

Aside from Arjo's the other week, that was my favorite sotw entry thus far. It was just difficult to interpret the work because it was very abstract, although that is why I liked it so much and that is why I voted for you.

Thanks. Most of my work can be considered "abstract" because that's my favorite type of art. That doesn't mean it doesn't fit the theme though (this isn't directed at you, but at everyone saying it has nothing to do with the theme).

Well,l it kind of should be directed at me actually, I was the one who originally pointed that out. Others probably just agreed because that is what people do around here, not many people speak on their own behalf. I saw green and thought of Earth, but you distorted the bg so much it was nearly impossible to make anything out, there was also smudging and other distracting stuff that added to the confusion.

Thanks for making everyone feel so confident.

Also regarding last week's controversy and any such controversy about the themes, excluding the fact that art is entirely interpretable, 'Elements' included periodic elements - in which every entry displayed and focused on. Don't be so ignorant as to only analyse the symbolic elements; water, fire, earth and air. Just please be more observant when you vote. And while I encourage everybody to vote, if you can't see beyond colours and textures, don't vote.

Remember that your entries must solely FOCUS on one of the themes.

As long as you can do that, everything else in your entries is totally you're call.

PLEASE think outside of the box.
Art's a question; not an answer.

This is so why renders/stocks should be posted along with the finished sig.
- Somone who's put more effort into their work would loose to someone who had taken another persons work and added adjustment layers. -.-

I might be in.. If I find a decent render or stock to render. D:

If you can't see there is more than adjustments there, you need glasses. The bg is completely re-done, I re-did her heart, I also added fx and fire within her hair. They weren't major additions, as I wanted to keep a lot of the original feel to the piece.

Great job moderating whoever did it, you remove all the valid posts and leave the one trolling, flaming post that started it all from Sellord, I seriously question the intentions of this staff sometimes.

Allure, stfu and gtfo you are a ripper the end.
