Freezes lag

When I load the world after I selected the character the sound starts to lag, and it takes 100 year to load.. Then after some lagging ingamge, the game totally freezes...

I do have a fine computer to run it, done it before.

Any ideas of what could be wrong?

do you have alot of programs running in the background? what spec is your pc?

Well, my spec is.

P4 3.0Ghz
Geforce 7800GS
2gb Kingston value ram
500gb harddisk

And as I mentioned, i have been running a private server before.
