i have a problem with this. I already posted it in the support forum but noone replied so i thought i'd put it here where ppl actually look lol. I don't no if i did this iwle making it public but the server worked be4 and now it dusnt. When i press launch server Apache.exe gets the error:

<OS 10048> only one usage of each socket address <protocol/network address/port> is normally permitted. :make sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80 no listening scokets available, shutting down
unable to open logs

apache could not be started
Press any key to continue...

So i must have sumthing already using port 80 i think. But i don't no wat it is and so if anyone noes what i can do that wud be awesome. Thanks.

Get a program that shows what ports your programs are using.

hhrmmm. It all seems right in my files. I have checked and double checked it all but my problem doesn't seem to be cause by badly writtent config files. It gets stuck on connecting when you log on and eventuall show the error:

Unable to connect

If anyone knows what causes this problem or how to fix it PLEASE help me. I have been working on making a server for like 2 days where I've been working all day, a quarter of the time i spent finding a damn guide and when i found it i screwed it up. This is either a show of how much of a n00b i am or a show of how unlucky i am lol.

'Go to Start --> Run and type put in C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts (if you use a differant drive to C just put that in instead) and open it with notepad. Add your IP address (you can find it here if you don't already know it) followed by the address you made in DynDNS earlier to the end of the file like so'

I did this, and added the information i was suppost to, but when i then clicked 'save' it said ' Cannot Create the C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hostsfile
Make sure the path and the filename are correct ' Can someone help me there please, because i can't get behond this point otherwise...

Thanks.

go to windows command prompt and do /cmd
choose the number that starts with 192 and then type it into your internet browser
then there is a section for port forwarding

Great guide, but I am still having one small problem. Everything is fixed right, but ascent.exe keeps crashing. I took a screenshot of what it says, as it exits too fast to read:

The logon.exe works fine, MySQL and apache are all up and running correctly. If anyone knows how to fix this, please reply ASAP. Thanks!

Thanks for the help Jargs, there is unfortunatly more than one problem... It seems the link you have provided, does not contain my router information for forwarding my ports, which is a Motorolla one, however its not listed, so i am unsure how to forward my ports needed, can anyone please help me out?

Thanks.
